Exhibition Getting Closer

09/05/2016

This week has been really busy, I've started work on two more paintings and been thinking about how to present them well. I'm working on a large painting of the small tree painting I did last week. I couldn't resist getting it printed 40x60" because it's such a beautiful tree. I also ordered a 30x40" print so that I could make a different scale painting, I just want to give myself options when it comes to deciding what to put into the show.

I went to look at the venue for our exhibition, the Observer Building in Hastings East Sussex. It's a great space, masses of space in fact and has unusual plywood walls. So we are not dealing with a white cube. I was concerned that my work couldn't compete with the natural pattern of the wood grain, so I took a piece of my work with me and put it up against the wall. I don't think it's as bad as I imagined. The Private View is 10th June 2016 and the exhibition will run for a week. It's getting exciting!
