Working on Woolf

So as time for developing new work was short, I decided to develop work that I had already made, use some of it and add to it. As I said in my last post, I could see a video work, the view out of a window, enticing nature, but the viewer is inside indoors participating in ordinary life.

I suppose I should point out that I don't mean

'There's lovely nature outside, it's beautiful, I want to be outside having a picnic!."

My concern is more than that. It's wanting to do the best by nature, feel connected to nature, not pollute the world, not fill the world with stuff that will be discarded as the next best thing comes along. But I have to clean the loo, I have to buy groceries, I have to get to places in my car, I have to keep my old draughty house warm enough to live in...

Not to mention all of the things that I do because we all do them, because I'm part of this world, this society, this culture. Getting new tech and rid of old, updating the house, my wardrobe... A hard truth, but one I continually battle with.

Sorry, seems like a bit of a rant! That's it though, when I look out of the window...
