Seed Collecting

seed collectionWalking in the woods in autumn collecting seeds and seed heads from dead and dying plants. I used brown envelopes to impose a limit on how much I could take back to the studio.

Aquilegia

Sweet chestnutSweet chestnuts.

I have been looking at Dutch artist Herman de Vries' work, he has a lot of works where he has an array of found objects displayed simply against a white background. He doesn't like to add anything of himself to nature, because to him it is 'already perfect.' I would argue just making a selection is putting something of yourself into the work, I don't know if that's adding to nature as such?
