More walks, more work

26/04/2016

Having looked at the paintings I have made, I think it would be good to add to the work I have made so far using more images of plants and trees taken walking in the countryside. I went for a walk in the countryside to enjoy the natural surroundings and  see what would catch my eye. This branch (above left), this church in the landscape (above centre), magnolia blossom next to a public footpath (above right) and this fabulous tree (below) shaped by the weather. I really like the drama of these photos, Spring weather, dark skies, bright sun. The wood pigeon mid-flight makes me smile every time I look at this image.

I chose to use the tree image to create a painting, I love the way the shape of the tree sits in the corner of the photo, I'll keep the pigeon in too. This is an A4 experiment, I'll order a bigger photo print to make a bigger painting if I decide I like this enough.
